A hugely influential force in documentary cinema, Wang Bing secured his reputation in the field with "Tie Xi Qu" (West Of The Tracks), a nine hour film documenting the dismantling of an industrial complex in the Shenyang industrial district, an area previously celebrated as a flagship of Chinese socialism.

Here the cinematographer presents his style through two portraits - "Fengming", a document of the protagonists memories of thirty years of politics and society in China, and "Man With No Name", a study based on a reclusive cave-dwelling character Wang Bing has been filming since 2007.
