Henrik Plenge Jakobsen

Danish artist Henrik Plenge Jakobsen’s conceptual work develops around several socio-cultural and political questions through multiple forms – sculpture, installation and performance. For his new exhibition Jakobsen has chosen to bring together, under the theme I OBJECT, a collection of sculptures and paints on paper; referencing a series of known shapes determined by man and in accordance with a certain scientific organisation: the solar system, armament technology, the Endless columns of Constantin Brancusi, psychiatrist Wilhelm Reich, NASA defence programmes and Russian synths. By borrowing the imagery from separate domains such as those of metaphysics, technology or science, the artist attempts to illustrate the possible convergence of “design”.
