James Thierrée, acrobat, trapezist, violinist, says of his new work: “Rather than a new mode of expression I am exploring the links with my previous productions, which, in a way, Raoul condensates. This individual allows me to investigate my own ‘language’.”

Eugene ONeill James Thierrée has alot to live up to. Performing from the age of 4 in his parents' company, Le Cirque Imaginaire and later Le Cirque Invisible. His theatre productions have been staged the world over, from Sadlers Wells in London to the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York, to rave reviews.
James Thiérrée’s fourth full-length creation, Raoul (a solo theatre piece blending contemporary circus, movement, music and poetry) was co-commissioned by the Barbican Centre and made its debut in London in October 2009. In 1998, he founded his Compagnie des Hannetons The May Bugs’ Company and since then La Symphonie du Hanneton The May Bug’s Symphony, La Veillée des Abysses The Wake near the Abyss and Au revoir parapluie Goodbye Umbrella have been travelling the world.
