Bit special this one. If you're prepared to drop the whole dinner and dancing thing in favour of good surroundings, an amazing lineup and a surefire hit of a party, this is the one for you. Tonight's roster at the Social reads like a who's who of dancefloor smashers.
Soulwax-produced dance-pop wunderkinds
Das Pop bring their infectious beats and melodies to the table, in anticipation of their new album which is already getting props from
Justice, amongst others.
Crazy B is one quarter of DJ crew Birdy Nam Nam, who's turntable skills have taken them to SXSW and to the top of the pile at the DMC World Team Championships.
Radioclit are DJ and producer duo Johan Karlberg and Etienne Tron, and they're fairly musically undefinable except to say that they rock dancefloors! Their mash up of fidget house, disco, funk and grime makes for fresh listening, and their remixes for Shit Disco, Bonde de Role and even Justin Timberlake are fast becoming standard repertoire.
As the new year dawns, Hendrik Weber AKA
Pantha du Prince brings us his melting pot of exquisitely layered indie-techno. This man's music nods to so many styles he should be wearing a neckbrace: Detroit techno, Manchester acid grooves, Japanese noise, post-punk NYC, DFA, ACR, drone, shoegazer, surrealist theatre... it's a complex thing! And the "Get The Curse" crew are sure to round things up nicely.
Also featuring at some point, and definitely none the less for being tagged on like this, will be party legends Booty Call Crew and The Driver (aka Manu Le Malin, who presumably will be fast-walking from Batofar in time for this set).
