Oskar Fischinger

With only the basic means of early cinema at their disposal - shapes moving on background, basic (but rapidly advancing) sound techniques - Oskar Fishinger and the other pioneers of the moving image in the 1920s and 30s pushed the synchronisation of sound and image forward to create an art form capable of true meaning; work which has been continued by others up to the present day.
