Laura Veirs found her way from passive absorption of country and folk as a child through feminist punk at college to her current musical being - writer of instantly accessible and deeply emotive alt folk. Her new record "July Flame" is set for the soundtrack to many a string-band-lover's summer this year, a rich mix of stripped down folk and pure country atmosphere evoking balmy evenings, campfires and fleeting, hazy, sundrenched moments.
