The exhibition ‘The Journey’ brings together six artists, employing the medium of photography as a privileged practice, to investigate the link between body and action. The word Journey evokes the idea of displacement; the majority of the time it is a short term relief which allows us to extract ourselves temporarily from a given point. From point A to point B in the style of a voyage, the journey defies our daily expectation and brings hope in the unexpected. The photograph becomes an authentic imprint of a personal voyage. This selection of works links these six artists from differing cultures and generations. Performance is at the heart of their artistic practices.
