MODULE 1 / ÉMILIE PITOISET, Comme on fait disparaître les miroirs
Through her exhibition Comme on fait disparaître les miroirs How The Mirrors Vanish,
Emilie Pitoiset offers a narrative which superposes an unreal present and a hypothetical past. It all starts with a rifle which is aimed threefold at the visitor, who is the involuntary target for a work of fiction on how things look and how things are forgotten.
MODULE 2 / EMMANUEL RÉGENT, Mes plans sur la comète / Drifting away
Emmanuel Régent is the 2009 winner of the Module Découverte of the Amis du Palais de Tokyo. The works displayed question the visitor’s modes of perception. Mes plans sur la comète / Drifting away may be a selection of recent or hitherto unseen works, but it is above all the artist’s seminal work: three large sheets rolled into a paper bin, which symbolise all his unsuccessful projects, all those waiting in the wings, and all those which can never see the light of day.
MODULE HORS LES MURS / LUC KHERADMAND, Postvsnow
In 2010, the external Module will cover the façade and vestibule of the Palais de Tokyo specifically showing a new video projection on one of the building’s windows every month. Luc Kheradmand, currently in his fifth year at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Arts Paris-Cergy, will present two video installations during this time, entitled Postvsnow III and Land.
Les Modules are supported by the Fondation Pierre Bergé - Yves Saint Laurent. In partnership with Le Journal des Arts.
CHÂLET DE TOKYO À NEW YORK / RENAUD AUGUSTE-DORMEUIL, Black Out On the night of March 4th,
Renaud Auguste-Dormeuil promises nothing short of plunging New York City into complete and utter darkness. This performance, staged at the New York Palace tower, is one of many that consist of artificially extinguishing the city lights of major world capitals at night from a panoramic vista.
