Jan Kämmerling

For her second exhibition Jan Kämmerling, a young German artist, explores a characteristic theme in her work: the uncertainty of the regard, obtained by oblique objects. A series of works created with metallic leaves will be shown for the first time and is the name also given to the exhibition - The black of well polished shoes.

Influenced by certain historical experiences such as constructivism, De Stijl and Hard Hedge, Jan Kämmerling questions through simple processes our new visual memory. Often using only two colours, red and black are the colours of choice. Jan Kämmerling lives and works in Dusseldorf, studying at the Kunstakademie he was the pupil of Jan Dibbets.
