For his new exhibition at the Galerie Templon, Daniel Dezeuze presents an exploration of historical painting and provides the links between a past haunted by war. Founding member of the Supports/Surfaces group in the ‘70s, Dezeuze has followed for over 40 years a great variety of techniques, familiarising himself with minimalist and abstract American art whilst experimenting with basic materials. In his new work Dezeuze explores our relation to the world of the chevalier and war, priests and religion, and provides a poetic dynamism to the forgotten genre of historical painting.
