In early April 2009, at the Cité Internationale,
Maguy Marin and Denis Mariotte presented a revival of Ça quand meme. This manifesto of a piece created just after the social movement started by the contract workers in the entertainment industry, is as acutely topical as ever. Shortly before starting her next creation, Maguy Marin does not know what awaits her on the way. It is not an artist’s mannerism, but a deliberate choice. She wants to bide her time and, together with the performers, see what will emerge and grow into a poem. No doubt it is uncomfortable to know nothing in advance. But this is Maguy Marin’s demanding method; to give life to a creation that is really devoid of any preconceived expectation.
