Horse Meat Disco

Written 30 January

Saturday 10 January, 00:00
Paris Social Club, 75002 [map]

From humble beginnings 5 years ago Horse Meat Disco has become an institution on both sides of the sexual divide due in large part to its dedication and appreciation to Disco music in all its forms. The brainchild of James Hillard and Jim Stanton, the idea was to create an alternative party that harped back to the halcyon days of parties like The Loft and The Gallery in New York whilst at the same time adapting it for a London crowd and always looking to the future.

Originally released in 1978, Black Devil’s “Disco Club” is an extremely rare disco masterpiece, an epic journey into the deepest electronic disco. The progression of the name, and the music, from that point to present day is shrouded in mystery. One thing is for sure: Bernard Fevre's current disco activities are amongst some of the most clued up on the planet today.

London based production duo Mock & Toof record for Tiny Sticks (UK), Mule Musiq (Japan) & DFA Records’ Death From Abroad (US) imprint. With remixes for Hot Chip, Scissor Sisters and Maps under their belts, this is one to watch.
