After the exhibition Les Nouvelles Idoles in 2007, then X-position(s) in 2008, la Bellevilloise opens again its doors to the photographer and philosopher Olivier Tibloux. In “Re-creation(s)” Tibloux invites us to travel through his photographic history of painting. Taking inspiration from the great masters of painting, and those that have broken with tradition, their eras and the morals of another time, Tibloux recreates the universe of Schiele, Klimt and Modigliani. The scandal is less visible but the break is still as violent when the works of Raphaël, De Vinci, Delacroix and Munch serve as models. Two years of prep work was necessary to meet the models today capable of embodying and reviving the former women portrayed and to understand the eye of the painter, with the hope of recreating this through the photographic lens.
