An evening of works by Olivier Messiaen, under the direction of Pierre Boulez.

Chronochromie presents us with a large orchestra heavy on the pitched percussion: glockenspiel, xylophone, marimba and bells alongside gongs, cymbals and tam-tam.

"Et exspecto resurrectionem mortuorum", another of Messiaen's large-scale works, focusses on the composers belief in the Resurrection. Finally, there's a performance of Messiaen's song cycle dedicated to the note E, "Poèmes pour Mi".
