Born in 1954 in South Africa, Luc Andrié spent his childhood and adolescence in Mozambique. Today he lives and works in Switzerland. Trained in cinema Andrié also practices photography. Both activities helping him to find the motifs for his paintings. Andrié saturates colours, extinguishing the subject whilst also revealing more at the same time. His perspectives are often off-centre, whilst perspective escapes laws which govern it; destabilising the viewers gaze.
