Shantala Shivalingappa’s skilful and original career follows the course of precise artistic choices. She is an acknowledged interpreter of the kuchipudi, a classical Indian dance form which is vigorous and refined in its rhythmic changes, but she also composes made to measure pieces midway between traditional and contemporary dance forms.
