Claire Fontaine

Written 30 January

Tuesday 13 January, 11:00 - 00:00:11
Galerie Chantal Crousel, 75003 [map]

Claire Fontaine is a Paris-based collective artist who declares herself a "readymade artist". Working in neon, video, sculpture, painting and text, her work has been described as an ongoing interrogation into the political impotence and the crisis of uniqueness that seem to define contemporary art today. Hazard Lights is an exploration into the world of work as prison where work is seen as the reverse of the prison/ productive machine. Office water fountains filled with vodka, imposing flashing slogans and signs representing political impotency, are amongst some of the objects used in this exhibition to represent the artist’s viewpoints.
