MYRIORAMA is Estelle Hanania’s second solo exhibition held at the FAT Galerie. The artist’s photographic work draws its subject from popular cultures and traditions, pagan rituals and other ancestral celebrations still in practice nowadays. She explores the relationship between Mankind and Nature; following the traces of a half-human and half vegetal procession. Through her lens, the photographer shows us a primitive and fundamental aspect of these strange cults.

The images come very close to abstraction. Gigantic, tall, black and white and hairy figures rise up, undulating their bodies into an impressive trance. They become real and frightening sculptures.

« Estelle Hanania, through a sort of inverted analogy, puts us in touch with the strange recognition/similarity that is to be found between gesture of rituals and the order of Nature. She introduces us to a deep connection between the afterlife and the raw presence of things. » Lara Sarcevic
