Grizzly Bear, Dirty Projectors

Regular readers will know that we tend to shy away from large hall uber-gigs, favouring the dimly lit basement over the floodlit arena. Sometimes, though, a lineup is too good to miss.

Brooklyn alt.folk quartet Grizzly Bear broke into the mainstream in 2009 with their huge album Veckatimest, though bandleader Edward Droste had been steadily pushing the project for five years previously. One highlight of that growth was 2007's "Friend EP", which featured covers and versions of their work by Band of Horses, CSS, Atlas Sound, Beirut and tonight's second gem in the lineup, fellow Brooklyn residents Dirty Projectors.
