Since the 1970s, Anna & Bernhard Blume have been developing « photographic actions », producing series in which they pretend to document paranormal scenes. These works are presented in the form of large format black and white images in which the artists question perception, nature and truth. This exhibition presents unknown work of a series produced with Sx70 polaroids, creating a visual style that’s both banal and precious, intimate and strange.

Aki Kuroda is a man who sits somewhere between western and eastern cultures. This exhibition looks at the photographic work associated with a new series of designs. This work on New York can be regarded as a travel diary, an intimate visual journey which reflects the vital energy of the megalopolis, the flow, lights, signs and publicity boards that create a true urban graphic and help to create the magic of New York.

Conceived specifically for the MEP, Holger Trülzsch’s installation is made up of seven new videos, photographs, and painted polaroids. As way of an intro, the creator quotes the writer Rainer Maria Rilke, from her novel The Notebooks of Malte Laurids Brigge: “I have prayed to find my childhood again, and it’s returned and I feel that it is still as difficult as before and that I have gained nothing from growing older”. Born in Munich in 1939, Trülzsch is a sculptor, musician, painter, photographer and filmmaker. In 1969 he started the experimental music group “Popol Vuh” with Florian Fricke. In 1984 he co-founded Mission photographique de la DATAR.
