As the driving force behind Funkadelic and Parliament, Clinton has pushed funk into new territories since the late 1970's, often driving offshoots into entirely new genres. Without the tough, electronic grooves of Hydraulic Pump or Bullet Proof, would we have anything like the current image of electronic dance music we have today? Almost definitely not.
