Toots and the Maytals (then called simply "The Maytals") were instrumental in the early development of reggae, particularly the ska sound which was fast rising in popularity at the time. They reformed in the early 90's and have made some shrewd industry moves recently, including covering
Radiohead's "Let Down" and playing with
Amy Winehouse.
