DANCE

Myriam Gourfink

Written 30 January

Wednesday 21 January, 20:00
Centre Pompidou, 75004 [map]

In her latest creation Les Temps tiraillés, the choreographer Myriam Gourfink produces a show that pays extreme attention to body movement whilst contemplating the space as architecture in movement. Myriam Gourfink's unique work introduces yoga techniques and computer-choreography to contemporary dance, exploring micro-movements and challenging conventional notions of dance. In less than ten years she has become one of the leading choreographers on the European contemporary dance scene. The performance she creates requires extreme physical control resulting in a strange but boundless beauty. She performs to the spectral music of Georg Friedrich Haas, Austrian composer whose sound experimentations offer original work and invite us to discover new musical territories.
