John Cale: Paris 1919

Written 30 January

Sunday 05 September, 20:00
Salle Pleyel, 75008 [map]
John Cale, Orchestre National d Île-de-France

John Cale performs a cinematic re-rendering of his seminal 1973 album "Paris 1919" alongside the Orchestre National d'Île-de-France. Arguably the most accessible - and definitely the best known - of his solo works, the original recordings featured Bill Payne, Lowell George and Chris Thomas amongst other notables. This orchestrated version builds on the lush, sweeping sound of Chris Thomas's original production, enhancing what many believe to be the pinnacle of Cale's career.
