The Roots, The Last Poets, David Murray

Born in the furnace of the African American civil rights movement of the 60's, the group of musicians and spoken word artists known as The Last Poets were one of the original forces at work in the creation of hip hop.

They're joined tonight by a modern legend of the genre, The Roots, and by saxophonist David Murray to pay tribute to the spirit and ideology of the activists of that movement, The Black Panthers.
