Following a critically acclaimed show in February 2010, Ali Banisadr returns to the Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac with a world premiere of a new collection of works on paper, presented the under the title "Evidence".
In this new series, Ali Banisadr combines printmaking, drawing and painting using watercolors, pastels, pencils and ink. The work evokes landscapes populated by characters inspired by Persian miniatures, which blend into almost abstract images. His drawings are not preparatory studies or sketches, but independent works exploring color, depth and layers of overlapping narrative.
Also opening this evening is the second show from
Cory Arcangel - the vernissage runs from 18:30 to 20:30 today.
