Emerging in the early 1970's as a contemporary of Wim Wenders and Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Werner Schroeter's forty year career in cinema spans over thirty sumptuous, poetic films.

Tonight's showing comprises a digitally restored version of his 1973 work "Willow Springs", in which three women live in a fantasy world of their own creation, isolated in the Californian desert, until their created world is shattered by the arrival of a man.
