Joanna Newsom's third album "Ys", released on Drag City in 2007, was a hard act to follow. It's epic weird-folk constructions stretched both performer and listener beyond the scope of existing genre norms, and secured Newsom's place as a highly original composer and virtuosic player. But follow it she did, and with aplomb - last year's three-disc masterwork "Have One On Me" is graceful, accomplished, intricate and crafted.
