Formed in 1976 in London,
Wire are one of the most influential bands of a formative era in rock music, an era which birthed bands like
REM,
Blur and
The Cure - not to mention their influence on their contemporaries, bands like
Big Black, and their pivotal role in bringing punk out of the ever-decreasing circles of it's self-imposed references and into the brave new world of post-punk. Yeah.
They're joined by Belgian drums/guitar duo
Madensuyu.
