Graduates from the Original Silence ensemble (which featured
Jim O'Rourke,
Thurston Moore and
Mats Gustafsson), three piece free noise rock outfit have been playing together since the end of 2006. Formed of drummer
Paal Nilssen-Love
(The Thing/Atomic), guitarist Terrie Ex (
The Ex) and bassist Massimo Pupillo (
Zu), Offonoff specialize in a sort stream of consciousness musical technique approximating jazz but never sinking into classification - each player is supremely sensitive to the actions of the other two, and the whole is a furious and thrilling thing. Make no mistake - this is the very edge of power-improv, and not for the faint hearted.
