A key figure in minimalist electronic music, Japanese composer Ryoji Ikeda continues his datamatics series with "Test Pattern", a live electronics and graphics piece based on the "aesthetics of data" in collaboration with Tomonaga Tokuyama.

The performance uses some fairly complex kit to take any format of data - audio, visual, numeric - and turn it into barcode-like patterns, which are then used to form sound, which is in turn sculpted by Ikeda.
