This is the vernissage of
Rob Pruitt's third solo show at Air De Paris. The show works on the concept of the popularised, affordable wall-art item made universal by IKEA. The ubiquitous furnishers took the idea of artistic wall decoration and made it affordable and easy to acquire but standardised - Pruitt completes the circle by taking the resulting uniform works and customising them, making them unique. Taking the IKEA "original" as a starting point, applying oil paints using a variety of techniques to make each piece individually adapted.
