Batofar sink (hopefully not literally) into the London world of nu-jazz, broken beat and soulful dancefloor electro with three of the heaviest hitters on the scene Bonobo, Benji B and Simbad.

Simon Green (aka Bonobo) has been pushing the boundaries of new jazz, funk and dance in the UK since his first release, aged 18, on Brighton based pioneering label Tru Thoughts. Skip to 2006 (and that's quite a skip, involving signing to Ninja tune and generally smashing it up worldwide), and his last album "Days To Come", which a certain Mr Peterson's listeners voted the number one album of the year, secures his place in the jazz/downtempo archive.

Benji B's BBC 1xtra show has become something of an institution over the last six years - listen once and you'll see why. Moving effortlessly between Hip Hop, deep house, UKG, jazz and broken beat, you'll understand pretty quickly that the aforementioned Mr Peterson wasn't solely responsible for the Sony award in 1999 - Benji produced the shows. Check his mix on the latest Need2soul compilation for an example of his deep soulful style.

Finally, Simbad. Destroyer of dancefloors, purveyor of fine bass music and bringer of the quality booty grooves, this French Londoner needs little bigging up.
