Yes, there have been a glut of these brass bands. At one point it seemed like you could catch one of them (Hot 8? Hackney Colliery?) in your local pub every weekend, such was the profusion.
The fad isn't calming down, but we reckon this is the cream of the crop.
Hypnotic Brass Ensemble stretch the format beyond those styles you'd traditionally hear their tones associated with, and sling aside the tried-and-tested cover versions. Instead, they embark upon 20 minute deep house workouts or techno rushes, using the full range of the brass to fill the room and entrance the audience.
Hypnotic indeed.
