Hailing from Cameroon and Australia,
Abakuya are a duo focused on research and performance of the traditional polyphonic music of Central Africa on modern instruments. Formed in 2006, with their first show at the "Um Mondo de Percussoes" festival, the pair have gone on to tour extensively throughout Europe, often inviting other musicians to swell their number into a small orchestra. The end product: entrancing, diverse, evocative and complex rhythmic music which will lift your soul.
