We had the rather good fortune to get our grubby paws onto a copy of Portico Quartet's forthcoming album last week. It is, quite frankly, one of the most lovely collections of musical things we've heard for a while. Swinging between lush, cinematic outpourings and deep, introspective studies, it's one of those albums that will make you stand frozen, helplessly blubbering if you happen to break a cup while listening to it. If you know what I mean.
