The New Pornographers Neko Case brings her country-tinged compositions to the Nouveau Casino. Her career has shown a steady development of a unique style, from her early pure honkytonk works (see her 1997 album "The Virginian"), to the stripped, elemental ballads of her new album "Middle Cyclone", set to be released next month on Anti- Records. Featuring guest spots from members of
Giant Sand,
Calexico and
The Sadies amongst others, the album's pared instrumentation forms a perfect backdrop for the singer's noir-country tones.
