Patrick Scott, Irish artist of international renown and winner of the Guggenheim prize, is best known for his gold paintings, abstracts incorporating geometrical forms in gold leaf against a pale tempura background. Meditations, a delicate body of work on paper, is his first exhibition in France. Using an abstract minimalism and characteristic gold and palladium leaves, the artist revisits numerous themes over the course of the past fifty years. Founding member of Aosdána, Patrick Scott received the Saoi title in 2007, the highest recognition for an Irish artist.
