An exhibition by the young chinese artist Hou Yong entitled « Water ». A body of work which is both hyperrealist and abstract in nature. His paintings express an extreme calmness though the intrinsic movement of the depicted element. Yong works with the photographic medium firstly before re-creating this reality in his paintings.

"Under the pattern of waves, powerful latent forces are moving. I copy the appearance of the photographs; the repetitious and time-consuming process brings me a sense of calmness. Each wave pattern is an endless and ever-changing enigma. Each form of wave looks similar to the next one yet differs completely from it. I am engulfed." Hou Yong
