After 30 years of absence Cortex reforms under the direction of its leader
Alain Mion. At the end of the 60s he accompanied
Hank Mobley and
Philly Joe Jones at the Blue Note. As well as being very influenced by the American jazz funk fusion bands of the time and by Brazilian music of Sergio Mendes, Cortex has developed a unique and recognisable style influencing numerous groups including Ed Motta, J Dilla, Madlib.
