During her studies at La femis, Claire Burger made short films which explored the frontier between fiction and documentary. This is the case for Forbach, her film made in collaboration with Marie Amachoukeli. The filmmaker is currently working with the latter on the writing of a script which looks at the theme of family. Claire Burger was selected by Sébastien Lifshitz for the festival "NOUVEAU CINÉMA"
Sébastien Lifshitz (born 21 January 1968) is a French screenwriter and director. He teaches at La Fémis and studied at the École du Louvre. He has a bachelor's degree from the University of Paris in history of art.
Scriptwriting
The writing of a script is a specific work of compromise and confrontation between personal imagination and real constraints, particularly those films which look at the frontiers of fiction and reality. How do you write a true story? How do you create a character from a real person? What happens to scenes and dialogue in a film which is based on improvisation and the unexpected? Claire Burger proposes to answer these questions.
