First up on tonight's triple bill are Londoners
Factory Floor, whose heavy mix of post-punk, buoyant basslines and dubstep-ish dark atmospherics has earned much critical acclaim in recent months, particularly since the release of their "Planning Application" EP.
Next up, avant-rock/no wave band
Blurt. Formed in 1979 by brothers Ted and Jake Milton (the latter being the drummer in psych group Quintessence), the lineup has changed constantly over the years, leaving Ted Milton as the only original member. The style: stark, repetetive riffs and beats, overlayed by Milton's multi-personal spoken lyrics.
Finally, Tom Denney's
Lonely Ghosts project. In the studio this is a one man band, but on stage the Lonely Ghosts "live crew" make things happen. Denney's lush pop arrangements and lo-fi, symphonic bedroom indie anthems make for compulsive listening.
