Teslamaniacs

Written 30 January

Thursday 12 March, 19:30
Palais do Tokyo, 75016 [map]

Nikola Tesla was an inventor and a mechanical and electrical engineer. After his demonstration of wireless communication in 1894 he was widely respected as one of the greatest electrical engineers who worked in America. As well as his work on electromagnetism and electromechanical engineering, Tesla has contributed in varying degrees to the establishment of robotics, remote control, radar and computer science, and to the expansion of ballistics, nuclear physics, and theoretical physics. Electrical experiments from Nikola Tesla include: wireless energy transfer to wirelessly power electronic devices, Tesla coils, and robots. Nikola Tesla was a genius and prolific inventor whose ideas, over a century old, are still largely used in our everyday lives (telephones, alternators, radar, to name a few). Tonight’s discussions include: How the electricity fairy enchanted the XIX century (and how Nikola Tesla was its prophet). From Tesla to Gakona, sciences to pseudo sciences via techno science. Wireless energy, the experiments of Tesla from 1891 recreated to today’s tastes.
