The final date of Presences électronique 2009 begins with a "round table" with
David Christoffel,
Christian Zanesi and
Maylis Dupont (11.30am, Salle 200) followed by another chance to view Besson's "Paroles Trouvées" (2pm, same place). At 4pm, we have turntablist, composer, originator and general cultural force
DJ Olive in concert, followed by a concert of work by electroacoustic composer and video artist
Bernard Parmegiani at 6pm (Atelier 4).
Tonight's main event features a rare allstar experimental music lineup. Kicking things of is pioneer, Messiaen student and father of Spectro-morphology
Denis Arthur Smalley. Next up, a collaboration between
Art Zoyd member and AV wizard
Mimetic and
Von Magnet creator
Phil Von, followed by a performance from composer, multi-instrumentalist and prolific noise artist
KK. Null, whose output of over 100 albums in the last quarter of a century has propelled him to the forefront of experimental music.
As the festival draws to a close for 2009, there's just time to feature the acclaimed talents of academic, composer, journalist and ex-
Flying Lizard David Toop; and a not-to-be-missed performance from Mego boss Pita, aka
Peter Rehberg, whose rhythmic noise and often brutal sonic manipulations should sign off another year of experimentation with a flourish.
