OUR POLAR HERITAGE
The project’s aim is the creation of an original and surprising piece of photographic art. The project will focus on two dimensions. First, a transversal set of artistic and professional images produced by women and men under extreme conditions. Secondly, the goal is to raise public awareness of the importance of scientific polar activities through city street exhibitions and to illustrate the impact of scientific activities on people’s daily life. Such a large scale photographic exhibition aims to highlight the importance of monitoring the most extreme geographic places in the world in order to enhance our knowledge and understanding of our Planet, and foremost about life in the polar regions, particularly in showcasing it’s work to the united nations it hopes to sensitise politicians and decision makers to the plight of our poles. The photographic work of Christian Morel is two years working alongside scientists from 60 nations in the polar regions, to produce a historical and powerful body of photographic work.
