Written 30 January

Maison Européenne de la Photographie, 75004 [map]

For over twenty-five years, Gilbert Gormezano and Pierre Minot have been taking the rain gorges, Ridgeway paths, beaches and plateaux and uniting real paths with imaginary ones. Long solitary whimsical marches, punctuated by dreamy posts where, through photographic proof and physical experience, this enigmatic presence as fleeting as a shadow opens up, where vibrant reflections are at the heart of the world and we find the silent and constant iridescence of light and matter. Whether premeditated or not, the images of this common exploration remain surprising and constitute a unique body of work.

Tonight's conference and discussion with Pierre Minot and Gilbert Gormezano explores the relationship between photographic practice and philosophy with philosopher Robert Misrahi, and Thierry Grillet.
