The only date in France for
Leo Tardin's jazz/hip hop/future funk project Grand Pianoramax, featuring collaborations with the legendary
Mike Ladd and Brooklyn spoken word artist
Celena Glenn. He alternates an equally stellar duo of percussionists in his piano/drums lineup: Deatoni Parks has worked with The Mars Volta and
Tom Waits amongst others, and
Adam Deitch has drummed for
Talib Kweli,
The Game and
50 Cent. The overall product - a stripped down but infectious funk blend of vintage synths and keys, grand piano, spoken word and percussion - is both original and danceable, exploratory and full of funk.
