Katsura Kan, native of Kyoto and a Master Butoh artist among the ranks of Japan’s first generation of Butoh, has been dancing since 1979. He is a celebrated solo artist, collaborative performer and choreographer.
He founded the Butoh company « Katsura Kan & Saltimbanque » in 1986, followed by a multidisciplinary experimental group in 1992. He travels extensively in Japan and South East Asia, increasing his research into contemporary forms of Asian art. He has made a name for himself by his very personal forms of Butoh in America, Europe and Egypt.

The aim of the second part of the evening is to open the audience to the minimalist texts of Samuel Beckett after the meditative process of Butoh.
