Andrew Weatherall, Discodeine, Pilooski, Dirty Sound System

Andrew Weatherall began his musical career as a journalist, before kicking off his production career with the Club mix of Hallelujah by the Happy Mondays. Not a bad start. Follow that with "World in Motion" by New Order and Primal Scream's "Loaded", and you start to get a sense of where this young chap's career was going. Skip to 1993, and the formation of Sabre of Paradise, a seminal moment in dancefloor history. Along with the Sabres deep, hypnotic and flawlessly produced techno soundscapes, Weatherall launched the associated Sabresonic and Bloodsugar UK club nights. The story since then has involved constantly diversifying projects, from the disbanding of Sabres of Paradise to the formation of Two Lone Swordsmen and Rotters Golf Club, and production work for Beth Orton, Bjork, My Bloody Valentine and Saint Etienne.

Backing up Mr Weatherall this evening will be Pilooski and Benjamin Morando, collectively known as Discodeine; and the Dirty Sound System, the label crew responsible for bringing you tonight's entertainment.
