Frederique loutz, born in 1974, lives and works in Berlin. She presents here her new designs which immerse us into a hybrid universe where beauty goes hand in hand with the terrible. A universe inspired by Greek mythology,
Grimm fairytales, and circus performers, as well as recurring Christian, theatrical, and iconographic subjects from art history. Each design encounters famous and mythical images, subjects more or less from our imagination but which become very real through the precise detail of Loutz’ work.
An original design is installed in a glass window in the middle of small comic and festive objects, like a theatre set. This photographed setting is at the centre of a new design; the subject becomes a model, outlines and settings become the subjects and invite us to discover this mise en abyme in detail.
